Always Planting (by Joe DiMino)

Married to
A fashion minded woman
I have learned
The different silks;
When high-heels and not—
And why flowery-garment-blooms
In the spring,
Their imagined fragrance
As a woman’s pleasantly scented dreams,
Always planting
Wishing for gardens
Though their men yield only
Victories of war.
