"An Autumn Leaf" (by Joe DiMino)

A wind came
And he thought it death,
His final resting
The ground;
But to his surprise
Lifted
He saw for the first
All around—
Above the tallest trees,
Beyond the mountains
To the sea,
This funnel of air
Seemed an old friend
Come out
Of eternity.
