"Can't Pin God Down" (by Joe DiMino)

Can’t pin God down
To one shape nor size—
As well as one’s truth
Or another’s lies:
Imagining His favor
For a particular shade
Of skin
Or tint of eyes…

Thanking Him
For all laughter
Then blaming Him
For all sighs

You can’t pin God down
When He never wrestles—
Always our bout
To stand and throw
Ourselves along with others—
Or to tap-out and know

Love begins
With Mercy....
