"Circle" by Joe DiMino Nothing moves In a straight line: Not the sky Not air Nor the current sea Contained in a sense The circle not free Just eternity . Life and death For a moment meet Unable to join forces Both diametrically retreat Defeated by the other; The motion backward Past and present Become one Something a god Might have consciously done Or simply Another flipside Of omnipotence Illumination Both dark and light A healthful balance Of delight And blight When Depending on the physician To my taste More Jung Than Freud Therefore beneath While above Love best Should be Ever expansive (A dreamy Concept) Open-ended Ultimately I think What the circle Intended .
