"Collateral Damage" (by Joe DiMino)
Unlike age
Bending under pressure sky
Youth has stiffer
Elevation
Though beneath the canopy
Weighting down
While less fruited the old palm
Yet with shade
Still gives comfort to many;
Youth oblivious
Excepting own height
And direction
Having little measure Of collateral damage The recognition One grows thoughtfully into When less above And more in sympathy....
