“Tell me of stars,” the
The student asked:
“As we, they flicker and flit…
But why not always lit?
Do they dark the day
Away? Perhaps such Morse
Is how they pray,
As all hopeful candles
On a windy day
Safe only in cloisters
Of night—with regulated
Snuffing…"
