"Fond Deceptions" (by Joe DiMino)
Often those driven after truth
Compelled by some inner demon
As mine, that of poetry
Prying beneath the masks
Our words
To abstract inners,
We are all too often
First to breathe
More deeply, and retain,
Pheromones of lies
Call it writers egos
(I prefer passions)
And the masked-ball
Our fond deceptions,
