"Free-love" (by Joe DiMino)

Ah, yes!—revisited,
Free-love
My 60’s illusion…
As if love
Can ever be free
Of the heart:
Free—only in this sense
That love should have
No restriction or boundaries
Not set by love itself
An independent abuser—
Making the fool
Of a tired body,
The practical mind,
And, the, to my point,
Sleeping soul
Desperate, therefore
Often careless
For all in need
Even when not conscious
Of Life’s deepest
Awakening…
