"I Asked" by Joe DiMino

I asked the bird
Of springtime—
He responded
With song;
I asked the wind
Of motion—
He moved me
Along;
I asked the sun
Of rays
And days,
And why
Are not
All bright?
But all
His focus
Seemed to be
A medley
Of light;
So asked God
About 
Darkness,
And endless
Fields 
Of night—
And why
For some
Wrongs
Seem
Never
To be
The
Appropriate
Right…

The bird continued to sing
While the wind lifted me bye
And the sun
Seeming content
Just to see, 
Shared all his lofty high—
