"I Have Known Passion" by Joe DiMino

I have known passion-
The young man one-sided;
The middle aged poet
Swab and debonair-
But did he really care?
And now the seer,
Fixation God;

Passion! Oh the word itself
Seems to ooze of it…
Drip and scent-
Come, and went-
I think of the great stories
My heart has woven
Like tapestry…
Then furnished my own moths-
I think of stories told to me-
Then cried for those
Not having my power
To step aside,
Leave direction to the guide-

Passion! Passion! Passion!
Of all the theater
Yet in some form to be,
What good having feeling
If I were to lose
That cast of you in me?
