"I Thought" (by Joe DiMino)

I saw all these little ants
in cooperation-
perhaps it takes no brains;
I have these love birds
always necking-
neither wears a ring;
I thought of the earth
its sun its moon
together for billions of years…
I thought of all the lonely people
and thought
for pity’s-sake, why?
