"It Doesn't Seem So Long Ago" (by Joe DiMino)
It doesn't seem so long ago,
And I haven't forgotten--
Still remember when
We tied that red bow;
And then said to each other,
"Now I've got you!"--
If only we knew,
Sometimes red bows turn blue--
And never change back again
It doesn't seem so long ago--
That little seed we planted
Is now a flower in bloom;
And wants to let go,
Tie a little red bow;
He is tall as you were--
Of course I won't tell them,
Blossom as she is,
Strong as he appears to be,
That sometimes red bows turn blue--
And never change back again
I've never stopped living,
Never stopped giving--
It was our way
To love
And fill the moments,
Share each precious breath
As if the last day--
I will tell her this
I will tell him this
Never forget to play;
Careful not to let my color bleed through;
Won't let a break of my voice display,
That red bows sometimes turn blue--
And never change back again
