" Losing Is Poetry" (by Joe DiMino)

Losing is the Spirit of poetry…

Unreal when between
The lines—

Seeking new paths
Away—

Perhaps mystic phrases

Away over the cobblestones:

Our words of tried and true
Worn glossy
Stand firm in the sun,
Our old suits of mind
So fondly overdone

As are the images

Of our beloved city

With its lanes,
Though ancient
Have always remained
Written Passage;

Yet they decline
What has always been
At the least
Yours and mine—
The right of the artist
In a FREE-WORLD
(slipping away)—
RIGHT to travel with the Muse
Unrestricted by form
Beyond ticking measure,
What will us artists do
When even the soul
The SOCIALIST will
Redefine for us
To his pleasure?
