Let me tell you,
There is a master plan—
A mastermind in control;
And though the soul
Sets its own feeling course,
There is a greater boss:
With hidden hand
Moving us pieces—a Chess of sorts—
By circumstance,
The earth His board
Of loss and redemption;

Ah yes! There is a loss:
Especially for an omnipotent god—
As our own finds must be gains
Worthy of such a maker—
And what greater substance
Then Himself to be uncovered
And given up?—
