"Mirror and Reflection" by Joe DiMino

Though the mirror
never lies,
it is often overruled
by personal reflection—

Self—no objective
oculist…

No stable glass
to the lenses:
’vex

and ’cave shifting,
we blur between
refractions

looking out to see in

looking in to see out

confounded by
our own lights
and shadows—

where stars
and moons
and the darkness
between all
truly begin…

far from
the skies

we deceive….
