"Much I Regret" (by Joe DiMino)

Much I regret—
Many whom I have hurt—
To write-it-off as youthful indiscretion
Is not enough
(even Insanity is not excuse enough
for those on the receiving-end)—
To say my soul is truly
Mournful, and I suffer,
Is to say at least
That I have awakened
And am prisoner to some extent
Of my own past and conscience,
Held a captive of guilt.

I know God forgives all…
But God does not sin;

If I could go back
There is much I would change,
Take back
What I should never have given
In the way of sorrow…

I really have,
“Grown old too soon
And wise too late”—

God, please heal my wounded….
