"My Greatest Assets" by Joe DiMino

You call
A deeper voice
Sometimes a shout
But even if whisper
Nonetheless audible
Can be inner me
Above all outside
Wisest when I listen
(That blessed alter ego)
To hear the jolt
Feel the vibration
As if a major quake
Biological tectonics
My continents
On the move I still
For the rifts are more
Important now
Those spaces that open
Foreign to my usual masses
Away from the common
Losses and gains
The histories of the day
And farther back
I have found
My greatest assets
Having always been those
I am able to step off
And away from
In a leap of faith
