"No Standing Still" (by Joe DiMino)
No standing still, you know:
There are winds
And tides,
The motion of the earth
Overrides,
And carries along
If not willing then
Kicking and screaming
No standing still
even motion
While dreaming;
No going back:
Where all stood
Has left the exhaust
Of yesteryears
Even those fondly nostalgic
Were shows of polluters;
Seemingly harmless play
Sinful, selfish emissions;
There! You have them,
My long sought confessions
Will this satisfy the critics?
The habitual choirs
Of Gilt-trippers;
Can I now swim away?
Don my old suit,
The one with the
Perpetual flippers
You still hate.
