Not All--Just Too Many (by Joe DiMino)

Time is not
a mesh of gears…
nor vibrating quartz,
in numbers alone—

More, it is hearts
and fears)—

real noses and ears;

certainly not
the tips of pens,

the academics
bloodletting spears…

though puncturing
and punctured

easily healed
by like selves—
an impenetrable
fortress is tenure…

and lawyers
(not all,
just too many)—

small wonder
from highest
to down
Christ seemed
to prefer
the common
