Observations (by Joe DiMino from "Desert Poems")

(1) My mind
arid with heat
dries to laser focus;
no runny thoughts
here in the desert.

(2) Nothing is wasted,
especially motion
night-tide an ocean
of parched vessels
sailing over the drifted dunes.

(3) Yesterday I saw
a hawk
shading a running jack
in his shadow;
and a cactus in bloom,
his wide-spread arms
despite the thorns
a cross of hospitality.

(4) All is not fatal
if one survives to witness.
