"On Truth And Beauty" by Joe DiMino

No ultimate truth
A common rant;
And, of course,
Beauty the eyes
Of the beholder—

Then why the sun
His same round
Through the heavens?

And the robin
Another robin
And not an ostrich?

And why always
The collapse
Of great civilizations
When God and religion
Are trivialized?

I have seen up-close
The results of such
Magnanimous philosophy
Personified to its faults:
On the lip licking
Faces of pedophiles,
And soulless
Murderers
Rationalizing
Their
Crimes
With
No
Hint
Of
Remorse….
