"Poetry Is Abundance Enough" (by Joe DiMino)Poetry is abundance enough--
Surely what else, even a whole bunch
Is not greater than one single living word?
What finer jewels than that
Which come from poetry rough?
You and I, poets, vagabonds
Envied by kings--
Joisting to be our patrons;
And yet they know
Down in the heart
Where all poetry begins--
Down where first the murmur
And then the cry;
Wish as they may
They will never live and die
As we live and die
Subjects really only
Of Poetry
.
