"Politics 2014" (by Joe DiMino)

Isolation comes with all
New territories:
Ask anyone who has stepped outside
The norm; for we comfort in likeness—
Safer to stand in than out
Present no nose to flatten

So stood Columbus on his deck
Alone, amidst the wailing;

And Galileo at his helm of stars
Spit up
For his depth of reason
Courage to sail
The uncharted

Priests, often
Their own serpents…

And Truth, as
Practiced by politicians
A murky sea
When navigated

Their crimes
Of greed
And ignorance
Best exposed….
