"Saw An Angel" (by Joe DiMino)

I saw an angel
Sitting on a rock;
The moonlight
Her hallo,
Her wings so like
Our shape-full dark—
Stars!—Know your
Sister Light…wean
And guard
All nesting bright;

Seas splash and gather
At her feet,
But not one drop nearly
Defeats—just glistens
Then retreats;

And there I remained,
Silent as shadow
Tasting the tides
Their air-full spray,
Hearing the tides
Clicking of shells
Chattering speed
Then slow
Sensing swells
And sea flow
Feeling that embryo
When first saturated
Long ago—
