"Somehow The Same" (by Joe DiMino)
Sometimes love resides
Submerged, protected;
As a seed
Or pearl of root
Tucked in warmth
Of soil
awaiting
Its season
(Perhapsthe right eyes
To happen along);
Then there is love the mature
Constantly affectionate
The spotless fruit
Unchanging its elements
(Those drains of reciprocity
Called human relationships
For aging and discarding)
Yetit is all love
The same
One body somehow the same
Inside and outside
Somehow the same
Infinite difference
.
