 “Something About A Sunny Day”(by Joe DiMino)

Something about a sunny day
That makes me want to step-out,
Lather myself with rays,
Rump about—a complete spectacle—
Hoping some blaze-of-a-girl will take
Spring-notice, lie down in the blooms
With me,
Equally enthusiastic about pollinating;

Then again, it is the showers
Consolidating all my random
Drops into a single, bona fide purpose;
My run-off spectacular as a surfer’s
Monumental wave
Of a wet-dream;

But the snow
Brings all perspective back
To thoughtful reason—
Reminding me
Of the need for true closeness
And lasting relationships….
