"Surface Glitters" by Joe DiMino

It is the desert
That speaks loudest
Of abundance—

When lacking
We take notice;

And when thirsting
Thoughts turn to
Survival floods—

The inspiration
Of gullies

That only reflection
Can manifest:
Surface glitters
Jumping at our eyes
Like tigers,
Less to drown
And more
To get us
