"The Christmas Spirit" (by Joe DiMino)

Little Light
How come so bright
And why all the bells ringing?
And why
All the angel choirs singing?
Harps playing
Candles gleaming
Countless stars as if newly lit beaming,
Why so special your birth

Little Light Beloved?
Little light descending from above
No sun ever knew such dawn
No earth ever beheld such a sight
Awakening a world
Long astray in night
Not lost
Only darkly dreaming—
Little light beloved
Though you carry a Cross
Your triumph of love
Far greater—
Knowing well, as the Holy mother,
Her travail gives man new form
To live outright
As the Son of God
