"The Illusion" (by Joe DiMino)
One that does not know God evident
Is oblivious to the evidence of senses,
Closed to the inner voice of the heart
An ongoing conversation of Divine Love
And eternal mystery
In the shadow never far
From sun he ages and dies outside
The lighthaving dimmed the spark of birth
Squandering a chance for illumination
Darker of mind, his imagined aloneness, a mere curtain drawn
Never having lit to the legacy of before and after
He closes into a shadow of
His own illusion
