"The Lesser Self" by Joe DiMino

The lesser in me cries out,
No one can see
As I see, internally,
Through the glass
Darkly of self!

While the greater in me
Sees as the Son of God sees,
From vast distance
Sees only good in me,
In this world
But of this world apart,
Sees me purely,
With love of Mother's heart,
Sees me radiant, triumphant,
Having battled and overcome,
Sees me from inception
Whole and perfectly done.
