"The Old Addict" (by Joe DiMino)

Here I go again
The old addict
Writing about love:
My new fix
That slit
In the gray sky,
Focus on a
Blast of light
As if a high flying
Once acrobatic
Rich now firefly
(No need to conserve
Again flashing)
Feeling as if young
Clock set back
To dashing—

Blossoms opening
In yonder field
Petals spreading
Even their reserves
Just if they knew
Time and place
I’d be passing through,
And that lover
Venturing by
From over the hill
Could yet stroll
With a twinkle-eye
And a dancing step
Not quite ready
To still…
