This is new to me
Says the New Year,
One minute old
And I am told
All that is expected
Of me,
Reflecting on my predecessor
Tired and sore
Now turn to me
Of the good
Wishing more…

The old year says
Goodbye,
And in parting
About my failures
I really did try—
Take it easy
On the rookie guys,
Not much more
To say—
When your old
Time really flies….
