"Time Has All and Nothing" by Joe DiMino

Time has
All the elements;
Speaking of basics
There are the seasons—
Seasonal changes
We dress and
Undress accordingly;
And then those
Other elements,
For which we often
Speak of
As unplanned:
Those elements of love, joy,
Loss, pain
That leads to
Seemingly
Endless suffering—
In truth,
Time has only time
And is nothing
Without
Everything else….
So, to say:
In-time,
Or, out-of-time;
If-not-for-time
Is to deny
All those things timeless
Following the human spirit
Throughout
Generations—
Time is not immortal,
But things like love
Forgiveness
And generosity
Should be
And can be;
Time is either
Friend or foe,
But never need be
Ultimate master....
