"To Know" by Joe DiMino

We, the enlightened—
Sensually, essence lovers—
Strive for oneness;
Overlooking—the All, while
A singularity
Is a multiplicity:
And the divisions
We mere blocks 
For individuality
Needs ignorance first
And foremost
As those achievers
Of science
To openly admit 
Having stood on 
The shoulders
Of giants

Then
As when we look anew
We take our eyes
From the other,

Therefore, to really see
Is to know
Intimately

Only what
We don’t know

And
Never
One’s
Own
Reflection
