Light can only reveal

Where there is outward

And inward substance,

Eyes to see

And heart to know—

Darkness the beginning

And end

To all journeys;

That is not to say

There is no life after death

Nor divine spark

Before the undertaking,

But it is to say

The best intentions

Even those of God

Can have

A hell of an ending

For some—
