"What Can We Hope To Know?" by Joe DiMino

There are no forests that come forth
From a single seed…
but an evolution that often
seems to culminate
in a moment
if one has slept through the first light
as we all have and do
to some degree of every dawn
or elsewhere in time been involved—
And to know much
is to know
that everything known
has already gone into us
and discovering is not seeking
for then we focus on 
outside and inside barriers
which are never answers
but deeper into sleep
 
We can know all of truth
but truth is never a thing
outside the spirit behind it
