I saw a rose and thought,
how like the rose I saw
before an eye to see;

texture soft as my cheek
already texture I adore;

with such a lovely scent,
seemed scent my nose
made for—
before a scent
could be.

Same question again
your pardon I beg,
thinking now perhaps
the egg….
