"Wishing" by Joe DiMino

I watched a star
Cross the sky—meteor
The non-believer would say;

Out of coins
And no legendary
Fountain near, I made
A wish—

But they
Are interchangeable,

Shooting-stars and fountains—

People and wishes,

There are the basic four:
Money, fame,
Health, love—

(As I am older
And have learned different)

The young would ask
For one
Or all of the above

While I would choose
Just young
