"Devoutly the Dreamer" (by Joe DiMino)

Each dawn possesses
New sweetness
Of sunny flavors,
Days to be devoured
Condemned man—

Though bloodless now still
A painful with breaths
As those driven nails
On our Savor’s Cross—

Night!—sweetest into vapors…

Eternal Dark and Deep
Impaler of all
But imagination

You set free to the mystic air—

My eyes closing and opening
Stars, You Infinite Light beauty
I slip beneath the veil
Of sleep
Lead me forever enchanted
Devoutly a follower
Of the Dreamer
