"Gravity A Push And Not A Pull" (by Joe DiMino)

Gravity, A Push And Not A Pull
It is the soul that
Recognizes registry—
Eyes instantly dismissive
Of that which they cannot
Or no longer wish to see;

As are the many ears, dismissive
When personal echoes are gone
And those birds of spirit
Once again settle on bare limbs
At the ready for new birth—

Nature not so easily fooled
By our appearances

The body, no mere time-capsule
Emptied of its contents
When the shell burst
And the projectile spent
Back to earth and oblivion—
We are more the stuff of dreams
And far less the slumbering vessel
That takes us there—

Gravity, a push
And not a pull
