 “I Saw”(by Joe DiMino)

I saw a Christmas Tree
Fresh cut so radiant green;
I saw a child anticipating
I saw a child sleeping
An opening to her dreams
And there an angel
With formal wings
Dyeing ribbons and bows
Arranging proms and balls
Handsome suitors’ rock-solid
Tall with fortunes galore;
I saw in the mirror
A tired woman—
Priest, banker, doctor, nurse
Mother of four—
I never saw God
But thank Him
Just the same….
