We are all seasons
In sense and color—
Our creative height
When nearest light:

You say, such lamp
A curse for the desert,
For beneath the surface
All forced to dwell;
I say, such heat
Is for introspective purpose
For I have seen a temperate earth
Made a bloody hell….
