"To One Length Or Another" (by Joe DiMino)

Many of us, to one length or another,
Use solely our own measure;

Though my own sun
Not all worlds my orbits—

My day perhaps a night to others;

And the light of my eyes
No universal beam
Of radiance, regardless
Of imagined source;

Forever alone and lost
When limited by my own
